There are moments when exaggeration leads to fear and anxiety. These feelings would then trigger coping mechanisms – sometimes, the remark is considered a laughing matter or taken as an insult.
In this particular story, for example, a patient was subjected to an awkward situation. But the situation was also a hilarious one.
One day, the man went to see his dentist for a dental check-up. His trips to the clinic were part of his monthly routine.

The man was asked to sit on the dental chair. The dentist started checking the man's teeth and asked him to open his mouth wide.
The dentist wanted to take a good look at the inner part of his mouth. "Open wide," the dentist said while leaning a little bit forward to the man sitting on the dental chair.

After a few minutes, the dentist gasped. "Good grief!" he exclaimed, startling the patient. "You've got the biggest cavity I've ever seen…the biggest cavity I've ever seen," the dentist added.
The patient felt annoyed, upset, and scared. He told the dentist that he was already scared the first time he exclaimed about the cavity and that the dentist need not repeat that twice. "I didn't," the dentist replied. "That was the echo!"

This may be a fictional story, but what a hilarious one! In another story, there's a man who went up to the bedroom, holding two painkiller pills and a glass of water. The pills were for his wife.
He thinks she was feeling sick. Confused, the wife asked, "What are those for?" The man said it was for her headache.
