Jake Quickenden refuses to back down from an online troll after they urged his girlfriend to miscarry.

Jake and Sophie Church recently delighted fans with the news that they're expecting their first child together.

They also told that they'd suffered a miscarriage last year, and had been "hit hard" by the tragic loss.

But an online troll targeted the pair following their pregnancy news, tweeting at Jake: "Hope ur gf loses the baby."

Jake was having none of it, and came back to the now-deleted tweet: "Never thought a tweet would make me feel sick, if only you knew how hurtful this is not only to us but so many other people!!!

"Please grow the F*** up quickly."

But Jake isn't letting trolls get him down too much, writing back to a fan who sent a supportive message: "To be fair it’s been like 3 negative comments and so much love!! 1 negative comment especially so disgusting can really get to you though."

He also took to Instagram with a screengrab of the exchange, penning a heartfelt thank you to the flood of fan support.

"Honestly thank you so much for all the love yesterday," Jake wrote, "it was so amazing reading the comments and support, what I don’t understand is at a time of pure joy for me and soph still people ( if you can call them people ) send negative and disgusting tweets, if you don’t care about the news just don’t comment!!!

"Trolls go f*** yourselves."

Sophie said their baby scan had been a relief

Sitting down for a chat with Hello! magazine, Sophie told: "Even though I was only six weeks pregnant it really hit me hard.

"With this pregnancy we still carry that worry, so it was nice to have the scan and know that everything is okay."

Beauty therapist Sophie added: "We had been trying for a year and a half and I was doing ovulation tests and everything and Jake said: 'Stop putting pressure on us, it will happen when it's meant to happen.'

"But when you really want something it's so hard to not feel disappointed every month."
