The UFC is targeting a BMF title rematch for early next year with Nate Diaz re-matching Jorge Masvidal. As a result, Leon Edwards expressed his frustration at ‘Gamebred’ fighting the same person he “battered across three rounds” and urged him to “step up.” Safe to say, the Stockton fighter did not take this well and hit back at the third-ranked welterweight.
The #13 ranked welterweight tweeted in response to the British fighter’s comments. He wrote, “You got f**ked up in the back for acting like you were tight. This fight s*it is the same everywere, in or out of the cage… don’t get punked ever. That goes for kabob also, you guys are in last place now lol”

The BMF champion Jorge Masvidal also made a mockery at Edwards’ expense.
Besides trolling Edwards, Diaz also fired a shot at Khabib Nurmagomedov, who like ‘Rocky’ fought outside the octagon.

The fighter has not competed since beating Rafael do Anjos in July 2019. He could easily take on another welterweight but is hell-bent on fighting ‘Gamebred’.As Masvidal is big on defending the symbolic belt and the other top-five welterweight contenders are occupied, Edwards time away will continue.
Why does Leon Edwards want to fight Jorge Masvidal?
The duo occupies the third and fourth spots in the rankings and needs two wins to feature in contention for the belt. Furthermore, a win against a former challenger will see Edwards’ stock soar. Also, there is legitimate heat between the duo who have unresolved issues. This stems from their backstage brawl at UFC London last March.
Masvidal had just made a UFC return to kick off a stellar 2019 and left his interview to punch ‘Rocky’. The altercation led to Edwards suffering a face cut, which is something he wouldn’t have forgotten. He may be eager to prove to the world that he can dish out meaty blows when he knows that he will be under attack.
Diaz’s comments of him being in the last place may not go down well considering Edwards outranks him and is on a monstrous eight-fight win streak. This is second only to the divisional champion Kamaru Usman.
Given the state of the division, what do you make of Nate Diaz’s response to Leon Edwards?
