Beerus is one of the most powerful characters in Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball universe. Debuting in the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Universe 7’s God of destruction is a prominent character in Dragon Ball Super, first battling Goku and later organizing teams of fighters to battle other fighters across the multiverse.
With his amazing facial expressions and obsession with eating the tastiest food found on Earth, Beerus is also as funny as he is supremely powerful. Both of those things make him perfect meme fodder, so let’s take a look at some hilarious memes featuring the god of destruction.

Even though Beerus is based on a specific cat, he actually looks like a variety of things depending on the angle, animation, and facial expression. He often looks like a cat, but, like the meme signals, he can sometimes look like other animals like a bat or a dog.
Lastly, there’s the astute observation that Beerus looks like the legendary rapper Snoop Dogg, which is pretty funny. What’s amazing, however, is that this isn’t the only meme on the Internet that points out the resemblance.
7 How Gods Fight
The whole Dragon Ball saga is known for its epic, large scale battles, full of superpowered martial arts and mass destruction, but there’s also loads of goofy, often crude comedy in the manga and anime as well. Dragon Ball isn’t a terribly complex story, but it can be a complicated one, with all its treasure hunting, resurrections, alternate universes, and ridiculously large scale battles. The action-packed movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' features, by this meme’s estimation, the most intense moment of the Dragon Ball Super era, as Beerus and his attendant Whis argue about whether they’ve equally shared the strawberries or if Beerus took the last one that was meant for Whis.
Beerus reminds Whis that he’s a god of destruction, which ends the argument, but what’s really funny about this scene is that it’s happening while Goku and Frieza are having an intense physical fight.
3 Family God
This one just might qualify as a deep cut. This meme is a reference to a 2006 episode of Family Guy where Peter Griffin gets a gig hosting an editorial segment on the local news because his rants proved to be rating dynamite for the news station. The segment, called “What Really Grinds My Gears,” had Peter targeting such topics as Lindsay Lohan and cars being better than horses. Of course, with Beerus hosting, the topic would surely involve food.

The “upgrade button” meme is a great one because it allows the creator of the meme to compare two similar things with a flavor different from the Drake approval meme. This particular version of it is great because not only does it fulfill the basic function of the meme, transitioning from the animated Beerus to a really angry-looking Sphynx cat, but also subverting it with the “go back” button. All in all, a solid joke.
1 The Ultimate Beerus Meme
There is no meme more succinct and all-encompassing of a character than this simple Beerus meme. The god looks angry and powerful, seemingly floating in the air, but with a hint of indignity and frustration that viewers commonly see in the character. The icing on the cake (so to speak) is the bold, all-caps PUDDING, signaling one of the prime, tangible concerns of Beerus. It’s a simple meme, but also an incredibly evocative one.
