In a tweet posted just hours after the show aired, West accused "SNL" of using "black people to hold other black people back."
"My heart goes out to Issa Rae," he added in the tweet. "I’m praying for her and her family I know that the twenty years of service that I’ve paid in the entertainment field has furthered our ability to be more successful."

His tweet follows a skit in which Rae and cast member Kenan Thompson mentioned West's name, prompting Rae, playing an NAACP lawyer, to quip, "Kanye? F him."

The campaign has largely been focused thus far on securing his name on the ballot in as many states as possible. He has polled in the low single digits since announcing his campaign in July.
In his first video ad released last week, West called on his supporters to launch a write-in campaign.

"We as a people will revive our nation's commitment to faith," the "Yeezus" rapper said in the video.
"By turning to faith, we will be the kind of nation, the kind of people, God intends us to be," he continued.
Rae has not yet responded to West's comments but thanked the show's producers for inviting her to appear.
