Florida State managed to hang on for Saturday's 31-28 win over North Carolina. The victory appeared to be one that had a little extra on it.
After the game, Florida State's verified Twitter account published a tweet at 11:37 p.m. ET that took a shot at the Tar Heels. A latest meeting between the two teams Oct. 1, 2016, saw UNC go to FSU's Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida, and win 37-35.
North Carolina did so as time expired on a 54-yard field goal by former kicker Nick Weiler (2012-16), who proceeded to celebrate with the Florida State tomahawk chop. The Seminoles clearly did not forget, posting a photo of Weiler's celebration and a side-by-side picture of Michael Jordan from ESPN's The Last Dance, where Jordan says, "and I took that personally."

Four years later, FSU (2-3, 1-3 ACC) got the last laugh with an upset of the previously unbeaten Tar Heels (3-1, 3-1), who entered fresh off an Associated Press poll top-five ranking. Florida State took a 31-7 lead at halftime but went cold in the third and fourth quarters while UNC chipped away.
With some luck, the Seminoles survived a final drive by North Carolina. The Tar Heels, with FSU clinging to a three-point edge, suffered a pair of drops on sophomore quarterback Sam Howell's third- and fourth-down passes intended for senior wide receiver Dazz Newsome and junior running back Javonte Williams.
UNC's turnover on downs at the fourth quarter's 35-second mark ended a comeback attempt. Florida State knelt out the final half minute and capped a stunner.
