The time after Cyberpunk 2077's launch has been rife with controversy and more than a few glitches. Thankfully, many of these glitches are hilarious, like V's unexpected ability to channel Marvel's Hulk. CD Projekt RED has promised to make fixes for Cyberpunk 2077's massive list of bugs, but players may want to enjoy the funny ones while they can.
Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in the sprawling metropolis of Night City, a hive of scum and villainy, if there ever was one. While the game offers players plenty of opportunity to cause mischief in story and side missions, there are also ways players can exploit glitches to cause more entertaining hijinks. A good number of these glitches involve Cyberpunk's vehicles, including one of the funniest Cyberpunk glitches so far: watching characters stand, pants-less, on passing motorcycles.
Cyberpunk 2077 may have glitches in many areas, but vehicles are responsible for good number of the funny bugs that plague Night City. In this particular case, the way vehicles interact when their hitboxes overlap produces some unexpected results. While players have been noticing some interesting glitches involving cars flying all over the city and crashing down - sometimes on top of them - V apparently has a secret power waiting to be unlocked, for those willing to channel The Incredible Hulk on Night City's unseemly streets.
Cyberpunk 2077 Funny Glitches: Hulk Smash!
Streamer vaqrgaming accidentally discovered that, when two Cyberpunk cars' hitboxes overlapped, it was possible to recreate one of the iconic green hero's signature moves - jumping on cars and utterly destroying them. In the clip, vaqrgaming sees two vehicles occupying the same digital space, their riders none too perturbed by their physics-defying predicament. (It's a good thing some mods are fixing Cyberpunk's pedestrian A.I.) Channeling the paragon of justice himself, The Hulk, vaqrgaming lightly jumps onto the hood of one of the cars. The resulting explosion utterly destroys both vehicles, leaving vaqrgaming's V standing triumphantly amidst the debris as if they had just entered a Marvel film's climax to save the day.
It appears Cyberpunk 2077 has a bit of a problem reconciling overlapping physics entities. While this sometimes leads to vehicles exploding without any interaction or flying through space at high speeds, it can also let players quite easily destroy vehicles in their way, as long as there is another object present to confuse the game's positioning. When this happens, Cyberpunk 2077's engine seems to want nothing more than to separate the objects, even if it means applying a ridiculous amount of physics pressure, with all the resulting implications of damage to the objects in question.
There are a lot of options for what CD Projekt RED updates need to address first, given the state of Cyberpunk 2077's physics. In the meantime, Night City will remain an excellent place to play about with hilarious glitches. Whether it's Hulk-Smashing through cars or watching them catapult throughout the sky, Cyberpunk 2077 has no shortage of fascinating physics-based bugs to discover. Here's hoping the game eventually sorts itself out, but, for now, players should enjoy the opportunity to destroy Night City with reckless abandon.
