SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley shared a tweet reacting to Samson and Puka Nacua reuniting at BYU.
Following the announcement by BYU that the Nacuas are both now Cougars, Huntley tweeted, “For once TDS got me spooked.”
TDS is a term started by Urban Meyer when he coached at Utah. It stands for “team down south”, members of the Utah football team and fanbase use it to refer to BYU.
BYU dipped into the transfer portal to grab both wide receivers. Samson came as a graduate transfer from Utah and Puca came from the University of Washington.
Older brother Samson will be eligible immediately for the 2021 season. Puka will have to sit out one year due to NCAA transfer rules. The NCAA is expected to have a vote on potentially allowing players to have a one-time waiver for a transfer in April after the Final Four.
