Banijay UK-owned Workerbee has been commissioned to produce a forty-part series for Comedy Central UK, titled Criminally Funny.
The 40 x 60’ clip-based series will “shine a search light on some of the most inept criminals the planet has to offer.”
From thieves being chased off by old ladies and robbers falling through ceilings, using CCTV, dashcam and smart phone footage, each episode examines some of the most bizarre, unpredictable and downright idiotic crimes from around the world.
Rick Murray, Managing Director for Workerbee, said: “It’s great to get such a bumper commission from Comedy Central. It’s astonishing and hilarious to see just how thoughtless some of these criminals are. We have some very funny footage of some very incompetent people.”
Criminally Funny is a Workerbee production for Comedy Central UK. It was commissioned by Cherry Yeandle, Senior Acquisitions and Co-Production Manager, ViacomCBS Networks UK. It will be executive produced by Ed Sayer for Workerbee and will broadcast later this year.
