I am one of those people whose first reaction is to laugh when someone falls down. I don’t know why and I can’t help it. It’s funny.
My mom has a bit of a habit of falling down in the funniest ways.
On Easter in 2019 she stepped off the driveway at her own house and just fell over. I was so sad none her siblings had seen it. They would’ve laughed with me.
Last July we were on vacation in a little town in Wyoming and we went for a short walk. While on this walk my son, who was holding her hand, bent down to look at something and she lost her balance and toppled over. Then she slowly rolled into the ditch.
There are many more instances, these are just the most recent. And don’t worry about her, she is fine.
The problem is, like with most other things in life, I am taking after her.
On Saturday, I had the most ridiculous fall. My son was spraying me with a water gun while I was sitting on my parents’ deck talking to my sister-in-law. I had to stand up and tell him to knock it off. When I did that I must’ve moved my chair a bit. As I went to sit back down, I never found the chair again. Instead the entire right side of my body hit the ground.
I just laid there for ten minutes laughing hysterically while my sister-in-law called out “help, help!” between her laughs and my beer foamed up all over my hand. Eventually I got up, be we continued to laugh because falling down is funny.
